CINEMATOGRAPHY + PHOTO

Based in Minnesota, available anywhere.

HELLO, I’M TIG …

… Minnesota-based cinematographer, photographer, and father of twins.

I got my start as a kid capturing school concerts for my mom — the music teacher. I enjoyed zooming in on each student, knowing the kids watching themselves (and laughing at each other) later; and I took pride in knowing the program so the camera was always pointed where it should be.

By 2013 I was shooting professionally, and 250+ weddings later, I’m still zooming in on details and expressions, and taking pride in planning and prep.

In 2021 I began asking what sets my work apart. I’m a storyteller; I build genuine relationships so I can capture authentic emotions and moments. I invest in great gear and am constantly pushing my own skill and creativity. I treat each couple like they’re the only one.

Great — just like everyone else. So I started asking people directly what they really want, and the answers led me to rebuild Degner Studio from the ground up. Now I can tell you what sets my work apart:

  • Every video package includes full ceremony, speeches, spotlight dances, and that cinematic highlights video everyone wants (I call them Vignettes).
  • Raw files are included in every package. The few other photo/videographers who offer this generally charge $1000+ for the raw files alone. I just think you should get everything from your own wedding day.
  • And you can print and edit them. Most photographers want to profit from prints, and are afraid bad third-party edits will make their work look bad. I think you should be able to do whatever you want with your own files.
  • Full-day coverage is included in all packages. Don’t stress out over a crunched timeline or get nickel-and-dimed adding hours of coverage.
  • My pricing is right here. Most photo/videographers want you to call so they can charm you. I’d love to talk with you, but also respect your [and my] time too much to waste it.

There’s much more. Please ask about shoot-only packages, my in-depth planning and prep, how I do booking, shooting, editing, and delivery myself, how my second shooters are all lead shooters with their own companies, how much extra stuff I bring to weddings in case of emergency, how I try to go above and beyond (e.g. taking over for a DJ who was off drinking when he was supposed to be starting the first dance)…

This is Degner Studio in 2022, and I’m proud of it.
